A lot of us struggle with a lack of motivation. While it can be crippling if we stay unmotivated for too long, it’s okay to be in this phase. Be patient and listen to yourself.
I believe the foundation of motivation is having something that truly excites and inspires you. It may take some time to find this - you’ll need to put in the work of exploring inside yourself and the world around you. It’s critical to have a strong purpose or we tend to lose motivation during the process. The “WHY” is more important than the “what”.
Why do you want to lose weight? Why do you need $100k? Why do you want to be a rock star? Make sure your heart is in this journey with you. Once you know the destination and the why, then CHART YOUR COURSE.
List the steps you need to take to reach your goal. Break the steps down by a weekly schedule, monthly milestones within a 12-month calendar. Keep yourself on task by ELIMINATING ANY DISTRACTIONS and anything or anyone holding you back. Create a POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT that promotes healthy changes and brings you closer to reaching your goals. Have someone hold you ACCOUNTABLE - a coach, wife, friend, employer, neighbor, etc. This is how I stay motivated and I’ve seen it work for others.
Remember, it’s a long road. Enjoy the ride!
